The Night Sky

28.01.2022 um 18:00 Uhr

Join us on a voyage around the globe and through the starry sky. Together, we will discover constellations, their myths and astronomical objects in them. The evening sky above Potsdam is full of wonders - even under urban conditions. Soon, we will leave the local perspective: On each of our events during this series, an expert and passionate stargazer will present his/her international perspective on the night sky.

Tonight we are going to experience some of what ancient desert travelers in Arabia saw in the night sky. On this exotic journey we're going to travel south and encounter some Arabian legends, Al Jawza'a, Suhayel, and the Arabian Lion - the most important part of the Moon Stations and an old form of a calendar in Southern parts of Arabia. This event will be presented by Ida Sigusch and Feras Debes Wa Laban.
